Employees and officials of the Ethiopian Railway Corporation celebrated the 2016 New Year’s Eve with various programs.

The implementation of the corporation’s 2015 budget and the 2016 fiscal year plan were presented by the deputy executive director of the corporation’s railway network, Engineer Seleshi Kasa and discussed.

At this time, the Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation, Engineer Helina Belachew stated that the activities planned and carried out in the fiscal year 2015 are excellent and that we will make competitive to our institution by solving the challenges and achieving better performance in the next fiscal year.

With regard to the service day appreciation gifts were given to the employees who retired and moved to another institution by the last fiscal year from the organization. 

During this time Eng. Helina Belachew CEO of Ethiopian Railways Corporation said that “Thank you for your service.”

Regarding the charity day, one hundred thousand Birr was donated to the Mary Joy Ethiopia humanitarian organization for the elderly and children by the organization. Moreover, clothing and shoes collected from the employees of the corporation were donated. The founder and general manager of Mary Joy, Sr. Zebider Zewde, expressed her gratitude on behalf of the beneficiaries for the support.

In addition to this by the coordination of the gender and social affairs team of the corporation, the children who lost their parents to HIV-AIDS, who are supported by the corporation’s volunteer workers were given school bags and shoes; work start-up materials were given to their guardians to improve their economy.
